Reasons why you get acne!

Have you ever wonder why your skin is prone to get acne? It can be a huge hassle to most of us, no matter which age group you’re in. Let me tell you things that can affect the growth of pimple or acne.

Face touching habit

Our hands, the most unclean parts, basically touch everything and collecting germs and bacteria. Then, throughout the day we continuously touch your face especially your chin and cheeks multiple times. By doing that we are actually transferring germs and bacteria to our face.

Tips: Regularly wash your hand with antibacterial soap. Avoid touching your face unnecessarily.

Sun overexposure

Overexposure to sun not only provide you with vitamin D. It also can make pimples worse. The heat from sunlight cause your skin to dry out, it also lead to increase oil production. Eventually it will lead to more pimples.

Tips: Include sunscreen in your daily routine. If you’re going to stay outdoor for a longer time, make sure you reapply the sunscreen every 2-4 hourly.

Dirty bedsheets or pillowcases

You’ll transfer dirt, oil, and bacteria from your clothes and skin to your bedsheets and pillowcases. This can cause pimples or worsen your current skin condition.

Tips: To bathe or wash up before sleeping and change your bedsheets and pillowcases.

Stress factor

Having pimples is surely stressful, but by getting more stressful cause them to worsen too. When you’re under stress, your body will release cortisol (stress hormone) which stimulate testosterone and oil production to clog the pores.

Tips: Avoid stress and try to release it with regular exercise and meditation. If you need help, then seek psychologist or psychiatrist advice.

Overscrubbing

Over-scrubbing your face can cause skin irritation. That’s why facial scrub is recommended only 1-2 times per week to remove the dead skin.

Tips: Gently dab your skin with a clean towel after cleansing your face. It’s vital to keep your towel clean to prevent breeding of germs and bacteria. Try to use chemical exfoliant instead of physical exfoliant. But, please be gentle on your skin.
