How to control your oily skin?

How to control your oily skin?

Oily skin can be annoying. Your foreheads will shine and most of the time, it will ruin your make up. Many of us are trying to stop the oil production 100%. However, do you know that oil is there to moisturize your skin? Thus, what we can do is, control the oil production. Let's talk about 4 ways to control your oily skin.

1. Use gentle cleanser twice a day

Don't forget to wash your face at least twice a day. This is to get rid of excess oil and make your skin feels comfortable. Use gentle cleanser to avoid washing your face with harsh ingredients. Harsh ingredients can make your skin dehydrated thus sending signals to your oil glands to produce more oil.

Tips: Alluskin Purifying Cleanser is packed with 5% glycolic acid to remove excess oil while exfoliating your skin. This cleanser has very minimal foam to avoid over-washing your face.

2. Choose lightweight products

Find products that does not feel heavy to your skin. Sticky and tacky finishing will make your oily skin looks even worst. Most of the time, watery type of serums and toners are great for oily skin. For moisturizers, find a gel, lotion, or gel-cream version.

Sometimes, 'oil-free' product can be too confusing. The truth is, not all products that contains oil can clog your pores and trigger your acne formation. For example, jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is considered as wax esters and it suits oily skin very well. Hence, this is why our Alluskin Barrier Cream suits oily and acne-prone skin,

3. Pat your face gently with clean paper towel

You might hate the look of your shiny forehead. Thus, instead of frequent washing (more than 3 times a day), pat your face gently with a new, dry and clean paper towel to absorb the excess oil. You don't want to transfer any bacteria that can trigger your acne. Also, avoid rubbing or dragging the paper towel across your skin to prevent skin irritation.

4. Use niacinamide products

Niacinamide is a very versatile ingredient. It can give great benefits for your skin and one of it is controlling the oil production. Start with the lower percentage first and see how it works on your skin. The great thing about niacinamide is, it's super friendly to dry skin.

Tips: Use our Alluskin Barrier Cream that contains 1% Niacinamide to repair your skin barrier. Niacinamide can also increase the production of ceramide in your skin. Thus whenever niacinamide and ceramide are paired together in any product, your skin barrier shall thank you!
